This is Our Story..

So who are Dos Perros Coffee Roasters? It's Karen, Peter, Nova, & Penny. The latter two being the dogs of the former two. 

The Beginning📖

Two healthcare professionals; We met while working in the OR, and connected over our shared love of animals, coffee, and a passion for creative expression. 

Our conversations inevitably turned to hospital coffee. As you can probably guess, it's not the best. It can be pretty bad: stale, burnt, and acid inducing were just a few of the gentler terms to describe what we were served. A simple: "We can make better coffee than this!” set us on the path to Dos Perros Coffee Roasters. Our passion for creativity came into play as we had been kicking around entrepreneurial ideas for an amazing photograph Karen had taken of our dogs. We knew it would make an awesome logo! And, we now had the business idea to go with it! 

We'll Figure It Out!🤔

Despite limited knowledge of the coffee industry, we carried an armful of passion, positivity, and a desire to learn. With that, we took a gigantic first leap into the business of coffee! We quickly learned that the business of coffee is not quite the same as the simple enjoyment of a cup of coffee.

It was a whole new world to be sure! Importers, sample roasters, website development, POS, social media (do we really need a fb account?) packaging, permits & licenses (what do you mean we don't have it!?). We had tons of questions, but we also believed, "whatever it is, we'll figure it out and make it happen! We are going to do this!" And, we have! We hit the ground running, and we've never stopped.  

Sky's the Limit💫

It’s been an incredible journey, and we've learned so much along the way! The most rewarding aspect has been the overwhelming positive response we have received from coffee aficionados across our state. Heck, we even sold out at SF Coffee Festival! Dos Perros Coffee Roasters has been recognized and awarded the Best Use of Design Award 2024 for brand design by Roastar, an industry leader in coffee marketing & packaging.

From the outset, we set the bar high for Dos Perros Coffee Roasters; It has to be great! And it is! We take pride in sourcing the best coffees Latin America has to offer. Each of our coffees is single-origin, specialty-graded, and roasted in small batches to optimal temperature and development. This ensures our coffees retain the peak flavor & characteristics of each bean, and you get the absolute best tasting cup of coffee with each brew.

Dos Perros Coffee is more than great coffee: it's community, and connections. It's family, friends, and the strangers we encounter as we go about our day. It’s positive energy - knowing that each of us is unique and amazing in our own right. And, a recognition that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves. Together, we approach life with a sense of freedom, individuality, & authenticity. True to ourselves, just like the brand we created!
